June 30, (THEWILL) – Barcelona has the signing of a fresh investment deal with Sixth Street, a renowned international investment company with extensive expertise in the sports market in exchange for 10% of the Club’s LaLiga TV rights over the following 25 years.

This will be a “significant advancement in the club’s financial resources and competitive standing,” according to the statement from the Catalan side which gets a €267 million capital gain from this deal for the current year as Sixth Street will provide a €207.5 million initial investment over the 25-year period.

The overwhelming approval of the deal by the Club’s members in its most recent Extraordinary General Assembly, paved the way for the deal to go into effect. President Joan Laporta said of the investment: “We are activating economic levers and executing on our patient, sustainable, and efficient strategy to strengthen the club’s financial footing. Sixth Street is a proven supporter of football, an experienced investor across global sports and media, and a partner that will contribute significant knowledge and resources while allowing us to independently manage our operations.”
