Sterling & Werner

November 13, (THEWILL) – Barcelona is planning on recording some huge loan moves in January, and Christian Pulisic of Chelsea has been added to their shopping list.

Due to a lack of funds at Camp Nou, Barcelona has shown preference for loan signings, with Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling top of their list. Sterling is interested in the move after becoming frustrated with his lack of playing time in the English Premier League.

The issue for Barcelona is that Sterling’s expensive wages may preclude a January move, but there are reports that a number of Chelsea players are being considered as prospective replacements.

Pulisic, who scored his first goal since returning from injury with the United States against Mexico this weekend as THEWILL reported, is at the top of the list.

Barcelona believes Pulisic might be a realistic contender for a winter loan due to the battle for minutes in Chelsea’s attack, and they are also keeping an eye on Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech, all in Chelsea, for the same reason.

Ziyech appears to be the most likely target out of the three. For the fact that the player himself is considering leaving Chelsea due to a lack of playing time, and the Blues are willing to let him go if an appropriate offer comes up.

Timo Werner has also been connected with Barcelona, so either the Spanish press is just tossing names about and hope they stick, or Barcelona is seriously plotting transfers for any player suffering for minutes at a big English club like Chelsea.

Werner, like Sterling, could prove to be far too pricey for Barcelona, and those in power at Camp Nou appear to be well aware of this.

A striker and a winger are reported to be on Xavi’s January shopping list for Barcelona, following the signing of Dani Alves, but rumours claim the club has less than £10 million to spend.

They prefer loan deals, but the players they are searching for are not the ones they are seeking for.
