December 04, (THEWILL) – Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, is buzzing with excitement as international football scouts arrive for the much-anticipated 6th Governor Douye Diri International Scouting Tournament.
Scheduled to run from December 4 to December 6, 2024, at the Samson Siasia Stadium, the event is set to spotlight young football talents in the state.
The scouting exercise, now in its sixth edition, has become a vital platform for identifying and nurturing local footballers, with several participants from past editions already securing deals with European clubs.
This year’s edition further cements the tournament’s reputation as a gateway for Bayelsa’s budding talents to the international football scene.
Eight teams will compete in the tournament, including, Krosaders Feeders FC, Selina FC, Starlet Football Academy, PNA FC Koluama,Citi Boys FC, Bayelsa United Feeders, Ogboinbiri FC (Prosperity Cup champions) and Kingdom Stars FC
Renowned scouts and coaches from across the globe have converged on Yenagoa to discover the next generation of football stars.
The tournament is more than just a sporting event; it is a celebration of Bayelsa’s football potential and a springboard for young players aspiring to achieve international recognition.
