July 09, (THEWILL) – Bayern Munich have made a second bid worth €80m for striker Harry Kane, as Tottenham Hotspur remain steadfast in their refusal to engage in talks.
The England captain, who has only one year remaining on his current contract, is considered vital to Spurs’ long-term plans and the English club is insisting on him staying. Earlier in the summer, the German champions had already been turned down after offering €70m for Kane.
Tottenham is resolute in their decision not to sell their talisman during the current transfer window, and the club hierarchy has yet to determine a potential price tag. Manager Thomas Tuchel and Bayern Munich are determined to secure a deal, as Tuchel sees Kane as the ideal leader for their front line. They maintain the hope that an agreement can be reached in the upcoming months.
Despite finishing in eighth place and failing to win any trophies in the 2022/2023 season, Kane was widely expected to remain at Spurs at the start of the summer. Major European clubs such as Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid have shown admiration for the striker but have been hesitant due to concerns about the potentially high asking price.
As the new season approaches, Tottenham’s newly appointed manager, Ange Postecoglou, hopes to retain Kane’s services.
