December 05, (THEWILL) – Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has resumed individual fitness training following a hamstring tear, the German club announced on Thursday, marking a positive step in his recovery process.
The England captain suffered the injury during the first half of a 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, subsequently missing the midweek German Cup defeat by Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayern confirmed the extent of the injury in a statement issued on Sunday, indicating Kane would be absent “for the time being”.
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany expressed optimism on Monday, hoping the striker would return before the end of 2024.
The 31-year-old was observed watching from the Allianz Arena stands during Tuesday’s cup match, which Bayern lost 1-0 to Leverkusen.
Since arriving in Munich during the summer of 2023, Kane had maintained an impressive fitness record, missing only two games before this hamstring injury.
His impact at the club has been significant, with an outstanding tally of 20 goals in 19 appearances across all competitions this season.
The club’s official statement: “Welcome back on the pitch, Harry Kane!,” signalled encouragement for the striker’s rehabilitation and potential imminent return to match fitness.
Kane’s recovery will be closely monitored by the medical team to ensure his complete return to peak performance.
