SAN FRANCISCO, August 21, (THEWILL) – A housemate at the ongoing Big Brother Naija reality TV show, Ngozi ‘Erica’ Nlewedim, has disclosed that she met her dad through social media.
Erica revealed this on Thursday during a diary session with fellow housemate, Wathoni, who took the place for Biggie.
Erica recalled that someone chatted her up on Instagram to tell her that they both shared the same surname and facial appearance.
According to her, she said the person was not in Nigeria then but had requested to meet her upon her return to the country.
She said she was anticipating meeting just a random social media friend but it turned out that the person was her cousin.
She said: “Someone contacted me on Instagram saying we have the same surname, look and think we are related. She asked me for my state and village and when I told her, she said it was the same as hers. She consequently asked that she would like to meet me when she comes to Nigeria, which l agreed.
“I thought l was just going to meet a new Instagram friend. When she met me, she asked for my father’s name and because l had not met my dad, l just told her the name. She said the name sounded familiar and needed to call her own father. By the time she was done calling, l discovered that my father was a nephew to the person’s dad.”
She disclosed that the encounter assisted her to get her father’s contact, saying that she had been “actively searching” for her father since she was 15 years old but only got his contact at 23.
She further disclosed that she was very happy when she finally met her father, saying that it was a “feeling l couldn’t explain”.
THEWILL reports that Erica is among the housemates tipped to win this year’s edition of the show.
