May 05, (THEWILL) — Beta Glass Plc has reported a solid, though moderated, financial performance for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026, reflecting resilience amid a challenging business environment.

According to its unaudited interim results, the leading glass container manufacturer in West and Central Africa recorded revenue of ₦37.54 billion, down from ₦41.16 billion in the corresponding period of 2025. The decline was largely attributed to normalised customer demand patterns following elevated stock-building activities by key clients last year.

Profit After Tax stood at ₦7.85 billion, representing a 21.48 percent year-on-year decrease compared to ₦9.99 billion recorded in Q1 2025. Similarly, Earnings Per Share fell to ₦13.08 from ₦16.66, reflecting the same rate of decline and mirroring broader market realities.

Despite the dip in top-line and profitability metrics, the company strengthened its financial position, with total equity rising to ₦104.12 billion as of March 31, 2026, up from ₦96.27 billion at the end of 2025.

Chief Executive Officer Alex Gendis noted that the results highlight the company’s operational resilience and disciplined execution. He explained that performance remained in line with internal expectations, supported by improved financing structures and a sustained focus on manufacturing efficiency.

Gendis added that the company continues to prioritise operational excellence, stronger customer relationships, and long-term growth positioning. He emphasised that efforts to secure raw material supply and maintain a stable inventory pipeline have ensured consistent service delivery despite ongoing global supply chain disruptions and cost pressures.

Overall, Beta Glass’s Q1 performance underscores its ability to navigate economic headwinds while maintaining profitability and reinforcing its balance sheet.
