Plantashun Boiz

July 26, (THEWILL) – Two feuding former members of the defunct popular music group, Plantashun Boiz, Blackface and 2baba, got reunited in Lagos at the weekend.

THEWILL recalls that 2Face (2Baba), Blackface, and Faze (the third member) were together in the R&B music group that later fell apart in 2004.

The trio went different ways after the exit of 2Baba who went solo on the platform of Kennis Music.

Although this didn’t go down well with the other members, they however went their separate ways and each released their individual albums.

A disagreement would later break out after Blackface accused 2Face of stealing the 2004 hit song “African Queen” from him.

Blackface had dragged 2Face in interviews and social media and later released his version of the song.

“I wrote the song, I decide who sings it and I decide who doesn’t sing it,” Blackface had stated.

After a court case followed, it was reported that both Blackface and 2Baba signed an undisclosed settlement agreement in 2019.

However, over the weekend, Faze, 2Baba and Blackface met at the Lagos memorial of the late rapper, Sound Sultan, who died of cancer recently in the Us.

In a viral video, the three are seen on stage shaking hands, hugging, and publicly keeping aside their differences.

The trio performed a couple of songs in honour of the deceased.
