BEVERLY HILLS, CA, July 07, (THEWILL) – A member representing Ngama/Ngala Federal Constituency of Borno state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulrahman Abba Terab, Monday said over 80 percent of attacks by the terrorist group Boko Haram were not reported.
He said this was so because the military repelled most of the attacks and that the terrorists stayed away from areas with military presence.
Terab, who disclosed this at a press conference, also commended the military for its successes in the fight against terrorists saying, “No matter how weak we think our security agencies are, go round and check most of these attacks, unfortunately 80 percent of the attacks are not being reported, they don’t come and attack in the presence of our forces.”
The congressman said security agencies have sufficient information about the Boko Haram from its foundation stage up to date and are in a better position to handle the deal with the issue appropriately.
The congressman expressed support for the emergency declared in the state saying it has made combating the terrorists easier and provided the military with flexibility to respond to attacks.
