October 07, (THEWILL) – Inter Milan looked to be heading for a comfortable victory after taking a 2-0 lead against Bologna within the first 12 minutes on Saturday. Goals from Francesco Acerbi and Lautaro Martinez put the visitors in control early on at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
However, Bologna mounted an impressive comeback to earn a 2-2 draw. The hosts were awarded a penalty after Lautaro Martinez fouled Lewis Ferguson in the box. Riccardo Orsolini converted the spot kick to pull one back for Bologna.
Joshua Zirkzee then scored the equaliser, controlling a ball over the top from Ferguson before finishing smartly past Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer. It completed the turnaround for Bologna, who remain unbeaten in their last seven matches.
Both sides had chances to find a late winner. Alexis Sanchez thought he had grabbed the three points for Inter but his goal was ruled out for offside. Bologna threatened on counterattack in stoppage time but El Azzouzi was denied by Sommer.
In the end, the points were shared. Inter will be disappointed after letting their lead slip while Bologna showed great character to fight back for the draw.
