May 15, (THEWILL) – Everton’s relegation fears were heightened at Goodison Park on Sunday as Brentford mounted a dramatic comeback to win 3-2.
With Leeds only managing a draw at home to Brighton earlier in the day, the hosts knew that a win on Merseyside would guarantee their Premier League place for next season. They played like a side ready to get that win despite Jarrad Branthwaite being sent off for a last-man tackle on Ivan Toney.

However, the Bees refused to give up and turned the game around in the second half with two quick goals in as many minutes. Yoane Wissa and Rico Henry scored close-range goals to secure all three points, further aggravating Everton’s relegation troubles as the race for survival enters its last day.
Everton will play Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Thursday evening in the first of two games to ensure their Premier League status.
Brentford, meanwhile, will welcome Leeds United to west London on the last day, knowing that their opponents are also fighting to avoid relegation.
