June 07, (THEWILL) — Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of highly-rated Nigerian forward Zadok Yohanna from Swedish club AIK Stockholm on a five-year contract.
The Seagulls confirmed the acquisition of the 18-year-old winger on Saturday, announcing that he has signed a deal that will keep him at the club until June 2031. Financial details of the transfer were not disclosed.
Yohanna arrives in England after a rapid rise in European football.
The young Nigerian joined AIK Stockholm from Kaduna-based Ikon Allah Academy in 2025 and quickly established himself as one of the club’s brightest prospects.
His impressive performances earned him promotion from AIK’s youth setup to the senior team within months of arriving in Sweden, attracting interest from several top clubs across Europe.
Reports indicated that the teenager was also on the radar of Premier League rivals Chelsea, Manchester City, and Newcastle United before opting to continue his development at Brighton, a club widely recognised for nurturing young talent.
Speaking after completing the move, Yohanna expressed his delight at reaching another significant milestone in his career.
“I am very happy to join this club because I know where I came from. I really wanted to make my family proud, and I have done that,” he said.
Yohanna’s emergence has also attracted attention at the international level, with the winger reportedly being monitored by Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle ahead of future national team selections.
The move represents another major step in the youngster’s development and reinforces Brighton’s commitment to recruiting promising young talents from across the globe.
Having made a strong impression in Sweden, Yohanna will now look to establish himself in one of the world’s most competitive leagues as he begins the next chapter of his career on the south coast of England.
