BEVERLY HILLS, July 12, (THEWILL) – In The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday assured that President Muhammadu Buhari is fast recovering from the illness for which he is undergoing treatment in London, adding that the President should be back in Nigeria soon.
Addressing State House correspondents shortly before the commencement of the day’s Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting, Osinbajo said his trip to London on Tuesday was to “check up on” Buhari, who he noted was in good spirits and was recuperating fast.
Disclosing that their meeting lasted for “well over an hour”, he said, “Of course I’ve been speaking to him on the phone and I thought it would be a good thing to go and see him and generally check up on how he was doing and also to brief him on developments.
“We had a very good conversation on wide-ranging issues and he’s in very good spirits. He’s recuperating very quickly and he’s doing very well.”

Asked when exactly he would swear in the new ministers-designate, the acting President said he is not in a position to tell when the two new ministers-designate, Stephen Ocheni (Kogi) and Suleiman Hassan (Gombe) will be sworn in.
He however assured that Ocheni and Hassan would be sworn in soon. The House of Reps had issued Osinbajo a one-week ultimatum for him to swear in the ministers.
Ocheni and Hassan’s nominations were confirmed over two months ago, but they are yet to be sworn in. Ocheni is to replace the late former Minister of State for Labour, James Ocholi; while Hassan is to replace Amina Mohammed who resigned as Minister of Environment to become the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General.
