SAN FRANCISCO, October 12, (THEWILL) – Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly called Burna Boy, has explained his absence from the #EndSARS protest presently rocking the nation.
The singer tweeted Monday in response to a Twitter user’s request to join them in the protest against police brutality scheduled for Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.
“I was dealing with a personal family issue at the beginning of these protests. My mum had serious surgery last week! ”he wrote on Twitter.
“We were all invested in making sure she recovers! I am not about that “put it all out on social media” life. We decided the focus must solely be on this protest.”

The Grammy Award nominee however expressed his support for the protests, which enters its fourth day Tuesday.
