June 11, (THEWILL) – Grammy award-winning singer, Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, has opened up about his lack of desire to see Manchester City emerge as winners in the UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan.
As THEWILL reported, in a thrilling encounter at the Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadi in Istanbul, Turkey, on Saturday night, City secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Inter to claim their maiden UCL trophy. Burna Boy, who made history as the first African artiste to perform at the UCL final, engaged in a conversation with Paramount+ immediately after the game.
Burna alluded to being a fan of Manchester United, City’s arch-rivals and previously, the only English side to win the coveted treble. Speaking candidly, the singer confessed: “This was the most amazing thing, even though I honestly didn’t want City to win for sentimental reasons, it’s okay. It is amazing performing at the UCL final.”
During the kickoff show powered by Pepsi, Burna Boy serenaded fans with his chart-topping hits “Last Last” and “It’s Plenty”. Sharing the stage with him was Anitta, the award-winning singer, who has had a phenomenal year with the release of her fifth studio album, “Versions Of Me” and a Grammy nomination for “Best New Artist.”
