February 16, (THEWILL) – The NBA has confirmed that the halftime show at the 72nd All-Star Game will feature an Afrobeats performance from three of Nigeria’s most celebrated musicians.
The show will be headlined by Burna Boy, Tems, and Rema, all of whom have achieved global fame and success for their music. Following the performance, the NBA family will honour LeBron James for becoming the league’s all-time scoring leader. The game will take place on Sunday, February 19 at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City and will be broadcast live on several networks.
Before the game begins, Post Malone will take the stage for a medley of hits, marking the first-ever in-arena NBA All-Star Draft. Fans will also be greeted by actor Vin Diesel, who stars in the upcoming film “Fast X.” The national anthems of the US and Canada will be performed by Grammy-nominated artist Jewel and platinum-selling artist Jully Black, respectively.
Additionally, the Utah-based Bonner Family will perform the US national anthem before the 2023 Jordan Rising Stars on Friday, February 17. The group will also perform at the NBA HBCU Classic presented by AT&T on Saturday, February 18. The classic game will be broadcast on TNT, ESPN2, and NBA TV, and will include renditions of both the US national anthem and “Lift Every Voice,” the Black national anthem.
