BEVERLY HILLS, February 01, (THEWILL) – The Confederation of African Football, CAF, said it has supported the “Solidarity 237″ movement for orphan children on the sidelines of the ongoing Total African Nations Championship (CHAN), in Cameroon as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR obligations.
Together with CAF, the movement took a hundred of theseobli children to attend the quarterfinal match between DR Congo and hosts Cameroon on the evening of Saturday, January 30 at the Japoma stadium in Douala for their benefit and entertainment.
The joy, enthusiasm and good humour that this gesture brought the children selected from six orphanages was immeasurable. They followed every second of the match which, to their inestimable pleasure, resulted in the qualification of the Indomitable Lions to the semi-finals at the detriment of Congo.
CAF plans to do the same operation for the semi-finals and the final with the same number of children. This move of identifying with the orphans and bringing them such memories of a lifetime was welcomed by the “Solidarity 237” President Mrs. Nourane Moluh Hassana.
Her expression of happiness matched that of the children and was reflected in her words of appreciation: “Thanks to CAF, the children were able to live a magnificent, magical and pleasant moment.
“I would like to thank all those who took part in this action, allowing children to experience a historic moment in their lives. We allowed them to witness the victory of the Indomitable Lions, which will certainly be etched in their heads forever.”
The “Solidarity 237” movement was created to help the most disadvantaged during the COVID-19 pandemic and has been particularly helpful to children at such difficult times.
