Hazard

October 12, (THEWILL) – According to reports monitored by THEWILL, Chelsea sporting director Marina Granovskaia has set a budgetary cap for completing a surprise Eden Hazard’s homecoming move that will see the Belgian return to Stamford Bridge.

Since joining Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2019, the Belgian forward has struggled to establish himself at the Santiago Bernabeu without much success.

However, during his seven years at Stamford Bridge, Hazard became a hero among Chelsea fans.

After joining the club from Lille in 2012, he scored 110 goals in 352 appearances. Chelsea won two Premier League crowns, an FA Cup, and a League Cup with the help of the brilliantly talented forward.

Hazard’s superb 2018/2019 season, in which he scored 21 goals in 52 appearances, persuaded Real to commit £100 million to bring him to Madrid.

But Hazard’s form took a dive in La Liga. In 51 games in all competitions, he only scored five times as he was plagued by injuries that kept him sidelined for long spells. The Belgian also had a tense connection with Real supporters, which is a far cry from his Chelsea days.

And now, the 30-year-old has been linked with a move away from Spain, with a stunning return to England being proposed.

If Hazard returns to the West Londoners, club owner Roman Abramovich believes he can reclaim his standing as one of the top players in the world. They maintain, however, that the Blues would only be willing to pay roughly £34 million to get the star back.

Despite Chelsea’s plethora of attacking options, a return to the Premier League could be helpful. Hazard would return to find himself battling for one of two positions behind Romelu Lukaku with Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, and Hakim Ziyech.

However, he may have already been handed a lift ahead of a possible return, with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel praising Hazard prior to Chelsea’s Champions League match against Real Madrid last season.
