August 04, (THEWILL) – Chelsea have added to their defensive ranks by signing French defender, Axel Disasi, from AS Monaco.
The 25-year-old has inked a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge, aiming to provide cover for injured Wesley Fofana. With 130 appearances in Ligue 1 and previous experience as part of the French squad that reached the World Cup final, Disasi brings valuable experience and talent to the Blues’ backline.
In his first statement as a Chelsea player, Disasi said: “I am so happy to be here, at this big club. I am really proud to be able to be a part of this great family, and I hope to achieve very big things here. To win titles. I will do everything I can to achieve those objectives. I am very ambitious.”
