November 11, (THEWILL) – Sadio Mane has been included in Senegal’s final World Cup roster, despite concerns that an injury he recently sustained could prevent him from participating fully.

As THEWILL reported, the forward was pulled off last weekend with what Bayern initially termed as a knock, but soon it became clear that Mane had had a tendon injury that would have completely eliminated him from the World Cup given the timing of the injury.

However, Aliou Cisse, the Senegalese coach, decided to name Mane in his tournament squad.

Fatma Samoura, the Senegal-born secretary general of FIFA, recently admitted that her nation would take all necessary precautions to ensure that Mane remained fit for the competition, even claiming that they would hire a witch doctor if they had to.

She said: “We are going to use witch doctors. I don’t know [if they’re effective], but in this instance, we’re going to use them anyway. We are hoping for miracles. He has to be there!”
