May 30, (THEWILL) – Controversy has trailed skit maker, Abike Halima Raheem, also known as Papaya ex or Abike Arab Money’s one million followers.
The popular skit maker had announced that she was staging a giveaway on Sunday, May 29th in Lekki, Lagos State.
She promised to give out a Lexus car, iphones and other consolation prizes.
Many of her fans travelled from different parts of the country just to attend the event and win one of the prizes.
During the event, the skit maker was blindfolded when it was time to choose the car owner. She later picked a fan known as Precious.
A few hours after the giveaway, it was alleged that the whole giveaway was a scam as the winner of the car is a close ally of the skitmaker.
It was revealed that Precious, the car winner, was one of the few people who staged a surprise party during Papaya ex’s birthday a few months ago.
It was gathered that Precious is the one handling her fans page and the car was given to her as a way of showing the skitmaker’s appreciation for the good work she is doing.
Papaya ex was criticised for deceiving her fans to believe that Precious was randomly chosen and not staged.
Many of her fans who came from neighbouring states all took to their social media to call out the skit maker for making them waste their money and time just to attend an event which already had a winner.
Some threatened to unfollow her social media and shun her businesses as well.
This development is coming a few weeks after the skitmaker was accused of living a fake life and deceiving her fans on social media.
