May 18, (THEWILL) – Tiger Woods’ former girlfriend, Erica Herman, has been instructed by a judge to uphold the non-disclosure agreement she allegedly signed in 2017.
The ruling came on Wednesday, from Florida Circuit Judge, Elizabeth Metzger, who stated that Herman must resolve her legal disputes with Woods through private arbitration. Metzger also expressed that Herman’s claims of sexual harassment by Woods were lacking in specificity and evidence.
In the court documents of the case, Herman claimed that Woods had coerced her into signing the NDA under the threat of termination from her position at his Florida restaurant. Herman’s attorney, Benjamin Hobas, argued that Woods had imposed different work conditions on her due to their sexual relationship, constituting sexual harassment.
Furthermore, Herman alleged that she had a verbal agreement with Woods to reside at his property for an additional five years and sought damages amounting to $30 million. Judge Metzger’s ruling acknowledged the existence of a negotiated non-disclosure agreement between Woods and Herman, despite her attorneys’ previous assertion that she did not recall signing any such agreement.
Although Herman’s legal team retains the right to appeal the judge’s decision, it remains uncertain if they will pursue this course of action.
