December 18, (THEWILL) – The Brooklyn Nets announced on Saturday that superstar Kevin Durant has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols. James Harden, Bruce Brown, LaMarcus Aldridge, James Johnson, DeAndre’ Bembry, Jevon Carter, and Paul Millsap are already in protocol.
Durant has kept the Nets atop the Eastern Conference at 21-8 despite players being in and out of the lineup all season due to suspensions and injuries. The 11-time All-Star is averaging 29.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game, which leads the league.
The revelation comes after the team welcomed Kyrie Irving back into the fold for games and practises in which he is able to participate.
The decision was made “with the full support of our players and after careful consideration of our current circumstances, including players missing games due to injuries and health and safety protocols,” according to Nets General Manager Sean Marks.
The Nets face a back-to-back against the Magic and Nuggets on Saturday and Sunday, as well as five games in the next eight days, including a Christmas Day matchup against the Lakers.
