December 16, (THEWILL) –Â The Premier League match between Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur has been postponed just hours before the two clubs were scheduled to meet at the King Power Stadium. The 8:30 pm fixture will now be rescheduled in what is increasingly becoming a tight campaign of postponed games.
Spurs’ previous two matches, against Rennes in the Europa League and Brighton in the Premier League, had been initially canceled due to a coronavirus outbreak within the club, as THEWILL reported.
Manchester United’s meeting against Brenford was postponed earlier this week, and Watford’s trip to Burnley was also cancelled further presenting a disturbing outlook for football and sports in general going forward.
Increased reports of the virus spreading throughout English clubs have prompted requests for all matches to be temporarily halted, but the authorities have yet to make a formal decision.
