Cases of the omicron variant of the disease are on the rise globally, with Tottenham’s Europa League match against Rennes and Premier League match against Brighton both getting postponed due to an outbreak at Spurs.
The Premier League has since requested that clubs return to their COVID-19 safety guidelines.
Ralf Rangnick’s United did not train on Sunday to curtail the outbreak, despite the fact that it would have been light training after their win against Norwich on Saturday.
