October 09, (THEWILL) – The UFC’s first pay-per-view event of 2023 will now feature a light heavyweight fight between Paul Craig and Johnny Walker, who will square off at UFC 283 on January 21 at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s Jeunesse Arena.

Craig will try to recover from Volkan Oezdemir ending his recent six-fight winning streak at UFC London in July. Prior to that, the No. 14-ranked fighter in MMA Fighting’s global rankings defeated Nikita Krylov, Jamahal Hill, Mauricio Rua, and Gadzhimurad Antigulov.

On the other hand, at UFC 279 in September, Walker defeated Ion Cutelaba by first-round submission to get his career back on track. The 30-year-old’s victory could not have come at a better moment for him as he entered the fight with losses in two of three and four of five, including a brutal knockout loss against Jamahal Hill in February.
