June 11, (THEWILL) – Stephen Curry has put in outstanding performances on the greatest platforms throughout his career, but Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday night may have been his best in their 107-97 win over the Celtics at TD Garden.
The Warriors’ star scored 43 points on 14-of-26 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds, and gave out four assists to became only the third point guard in NBA Finals history to score 40 points and grab 10 rebounds (after Jerry West and Magic Johnson).
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr switched out Kevon Looney for Otto Porter Jr in the starting lineup, but the change did not result in an immediate offensive boost, as Golden State trailed 54-49 at halftime.
Late in the second half, though, the tide flipped in favour of the visitors when Kerr made another lineup change by sitting Draymond Green for the majority of the game’s final stanza. In a 107-97 comeback triumph, the Warriors outscored the Celtics 15-0 in the last minutes to tie the series at two games apiece.
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 23 points, but he struggled from the field (8-of-23) and turned the ball over six times in the loss. But, against the Milwaukee Bucks, they showed they can come back and a similar showing in Game 5 in San Francisco on Monday night could give Boston a chance to wrap off the series in Game 6 next Thursday in Boston.
