September 01, (THEWILL) –Â Controversial rapper, Jonathan Lyndale, professionally known as Dababy, has cancelled his September 2 concert, taking place at the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans due to low ticket sales.
Ticketmaster’s listing for the concert was deactivated on Tuesday and now reads “Unfortunately, the Event Organiser has had to cancel your event.”
Before it was taken down, it was reported that the ticket sales were less than 500 purchased for an arena that can hold 14,000 concert goers. And tickets were sold for as low as $35 a pop.
Faced with the potentials of losing hundred of thousand of dollars if Dababy plays to an empty arena, the show promoter and Dababy decided to cut their losses and cancel the show.
Those who have bought their tickets will have their money refunded to them.
The rapper now only has two more scheduled tour dates left: one in Paris on Oct. 29 and another in Houston, Texas, on Nov. 12.
