May 12, (THEWILL) – Emmanuel Dennis, the Super Eagles forward, will not be featuring in Nottingham Forest’s squad as they prepare to face Chelsea on Saturday.

Their 4-3 victory against Southampton on Monday aside, the Tricky Trees are determined to continue their winning streak and will travel from West Bridgford to London to take on the Blues.

Dennis, who previously played for Watford, unfortunately sustained an injury and was forced to watch from the sidelines as Taiwo Awoniyi and his teammates battled it out at the City Ground. Steve Cooper, the manager of Forest, confirmed the news during a pre-match press conference in Nottingham, stating that the Nigerian forward picked up the injury during training prior to their thrilling 4-3 clash against Southampton.

Regrettably, Dennis has yet to recover and rejoin the squad. “Dennis has been injured. He sustained a knock in training before the Southampton match, and he is still unavailable,” explained Cooper. This setback adds to the challenges faced by Dennis since his transfer to Nottingham for a fee of $14.80 million in the summer of 2022.

Despite demonstrating his value during training sessions and actively contributing to Nottingham’s build-up play, the injury comes at a crucial time, with only three games remaining in the season, potentially putting an end to Dennis’ on-field appearances.
