April 03, (THEWILL) – Obinna Levi Ajuonuma, also known as DJ Obi, has slammed Bankole Wellington, also known as Banky W, for signifying interest to contest for the 2023 general election.
Banky W had on Saturday, made his intention known to contest for Lagos State Eti Osa Federal Constituency seat under the platform of People’s Democratic Party.
DJ Obi condemned Banky W for making his political ambition known. He accused the singer of being obsessed with fame.
“Anywhere breeze blow, you dey there. Today Pastor, tomorrow artiste, next tomorrow politician, next week deliverance minister, next month new single on the way, ABEG, we need real politician.
“This is not a popularity contest. We are serious about our country. Nigeria is on the verge of getting on the path of greatness, we need solid men that are willing to lose it all for this nation to work and work well. The work ahead is not for the weak hearts…no be now I go talk#endsars.”
Recall that in 2019, Banky W contested under the platform of Modern Democratic Party for Lagos State Eti Osa Federal Constituency seat, but he lost the election.
