May 20, (THEWILL) – Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have fired their manager, Marco Rose, as the club’s management reached a decision to “move forward” without the manager.
In a statement put out through their verified Twitter account, Dortmund noted: “BVB and Coach Marco Rose end their relationship.
“Following an intensive season analysis on Thursday, including Rose, Watzke, Zorc, Kehl, and Sammer, the club has decided to move forward, and wishes Marco Rose the best of luck in his next opportunity.”
Dortmund finished second to champions Bayern Munich last Saturday and lost their promising marksman Erling Haaland to Manchester City in a spectacular summer transfer.
Dortmund have recruited 20-year-old forward Karim Adeyemi for next season to fill the void left by Haaland’s departure, although it is unclear whether they will be as competitive as they were previously. Niklas Sule, a defender, and Nico Schlotterbeck, a Germany international, have both joined the squad.
