The hosts endured a nightmarish first half as Abdoulaye Doucoure opened the scoring just 33 seconds. Doucoure went on to complete a first-half brace, while an own goal from Brighton goalkeeper, Jason Steele, and a goal from Dwight McNeil, further solidified Everton’s dominance.
