April 21, (THEWILL) – Six new Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City luminaries have been inducted into the Premier League’s swelling the growing Hall of Fame inductees, which currently includes 16 members.
Peter Schmeichel and Paul Scholes, two Manchester United players who won many Premier League titles, have been included.
They will be joined by Arsenal legend Ian Wright, who scored 113 Premier League goals in the competition’s first seven seasons.
Didier Drogba was also inducted, as the Ivorian was honoured for his 104 Premier League goals, two Golden Boots, and five titles with Chelsea.
The roster is completed by Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero, both of whom joined Manchester City 10 years ago and have just lately left the Premier League.
Richard Masters, the Chief Executive of the EPL, said: “The latest additions to our Hall of Fame were all world-class players who entertained fans around the world and helped to define different eras of the Premier League.
“I congratulate them on receiving the honour and thank those who voted for their favourite players. We now have 16 incredible inductees in the Premier League Hall of Fame and I look forward to seeing who will follow them in years to come.”
All inductees into the EPL Hall of Fame are presented with an engraved medallion and a £10,000 donation to a charity of their choice.
