December 18, (THEWILL) – The Department of the State Services (DSS) has refuted reports that bandits in Abaji council area of the Federal Capital Territory abducted some of its operatives.
Reports quoting eyewitnesses said gunmen invaded Abaji community on Saturday leaving one vigilante operative dead and kidnapped an unknown number of the DSS operatives.
However, DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, in a terse response, described the report as false, saying that “No DSS personnel was abducted in Abaji or anywhere in the FCT.”
“Not true. No DSS personnel was abducted in Abaji or anywhere in the FCT,” he said.
Recently, Abaji has become notorious for criminal activities, including abductions of residents and travellers on the Abuja-Lokoja highway.
