Inter milan
Edin Dzeko

June 22, (THEWILL) – Inter Milan striker, Edin Dzeko, has completed a two-year move to Turkish club, Fenerbahce, as confirmed by the club on Thursday.

After losing the UEFA Champions League final against Manchester City in Istanbul recently, the 37-year-old Bosnian international will earn an annual salary of €4.2 million during his tenure with Fenerbahce. Having joined Inter from Roma in 2021 and scoring 14 goals for them across all competitions last season, Dzeko’s contract with the Serie A side expired at the completion of the campaign.

Prior to his stint at Inter Milan, Dzeko had successful spells at Manchester City and Wolfsburg, securing league titles in both the English Premier League and Bundesliga. With over 300 club goals to his name, he is also the all-time leading scorer for Bosnia and Herzegovina, having netted 64 international goals in 129 appearances.

Fenerbahce, who finished second in the Super Lig last season behind their arch-rivals Galatasaray, last won the Turkish top-flight title in 2014. They recently clinched the Turkish Cup in early June, however, marking their first triumph in nine years. Dzeko’s arrival at Fenerbahce will fill the void left by Enner Valencia, who was the top scorer in the Super Lig last season with 29 goals but has departed for Brazilian club Internacional.
