November 19, (THEWILL) – Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, has called on the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate in the last general elections, Ifeanyi Odi, to contribute positively to the state’s development instead of criticizing government policies and projects.

Emegha’s remarks were in response to Odi’s recent statement describing the hosting of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and other governors’ wives in Ebonyi as a “waste of funds.”

Dismissing Odi’s claims, Emegha lauded Governor Francis Nwifuru’s administration for creating a conducive environment for businesses, citing support for the establishment of two private radio stations, Legacy FM and Glorious FM, as evidence.

“The PDP is blind to the two kilometers of road construction ongoing in each autonomous community.

“They ignore the extensive roads being built, the provision of pipe-borne water, and the revival of pipe production companies.

“They refuse to see the transformation of the Ebonyi Broadcasting Corporation, the emergence of new housing estates at Camp David, and efforts to reduce robbery through strategic appointments,” he said.

Emegha criticised Odi’s assessment of the First Lady’s visit, emphasising its positive impact.

“We are not surprised by Anyi Chuks’ comments.

“The visit of the President’s wife to Ebonyi is not a waste of funds. Such high-profile visits are a political advantage and attract development to the state.

“Talking about our airport, he shows his ignorance. In the aviation industry, cement technology runways are unsuitable due to their lack of smoothness compared to asphalt. Governor Nwifuru understood this and addressed it. Even the First Lady acknowledged our airport as the best in the country. Who is Anyi Chuks to undermine such progress?,” he stated.

Emegha urged Odi to focus on constructive contributions rather than personal attacks, highlighting the ongoing infrastructural and economic development under Nwifuru.

“We are building Ebonyi State, not personal businesses. Hotels are springing up, and radio stations are being commissioned. Instead of constant criticism, Odi should join hands with the government for the state’s progress,” Emegha stated.

He further advised Odi to resolve issues within the PDP and prepare for future elections.

“If he feels he has the capacity to contest, let him wait another 14 years. For now, he should focus on fixing his party and stop distracting the government with baseless claims,” he added.

Emegha reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to Ebonyi’s development and urged all residents to support the administration’s efforts in delivering meaningful progress to the state
