January 31, (THEWILL) – Governor Nwifuru’s Special Assistant on Internal Security in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Honourable Cletus Ike, has assured that the people of the Council will deliver 99.9% of her total vote to the All Progressive Congress (APC), in the February 3 Ebonyi South bye-election.
Honourable Ike, who disclosed this on Tuesday, to newsmen in an interview during the grand finale of the All Progressive Congress (APC) campaign, which was held at the headquarters of Ivo Local Government Area, Isiaka, stated that there is no opposition party in the area.
According to him, there is no other political party in Ivo Local Government, assuring that the Council area will deliver over 90% for APC in the bye-election.
He said, “We really appreciate His Excellency for coming to the grand finale of the All Progressive Congress (APC) campaign in Ivo Local Government Area. The campaign is a very big opportunity and has boosted the morale of the APC members in Ivo Local Government Area.
“I can assure everyone that Ivo Local Government Area is for All Progressive Congress (APC). For Ivo Local Government Area, we do not have any other party, even as I am speaking to you now, none of the opposition party is campaigning. They have not visited any ward.
“For Ivo Local Government Area, we have promised the APC and His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, that we are going to deliver 99.9% of our total vote come 3rd February to APC.
“Luckily, I am the SA in charge of Internal Security, we have plans and I do not think there will be any disturbances because everywhere is very calm and peaceful. Insecurity has been a thing of the past in Ivo Local Government Area and I assure everyone of peace.
“The federal lawmaker, who is representing Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo federal constituency is from here. But I can assure you that if he has his own way, he would have crossed to the All Progressive Congress (APC) because he knew that what happened then was something else which was nicknamed Obi wave. But for now, the entire Ivo Local Government Area is for APC. He will not come back for the election. I can assure you and you can verify that.
“We are totally in charge in Ivo Local Government Area. If not because of the law that prevents him from cross carperting, he would have done that. So, we know. I am not speaking for him, but you know the implication of doing that early than the required time he supposed to cross carpet. I am not speaking for him, but that is what is delaying him”, he concluded.
