SAN FRANCISCO, February 27, (THEWILL) – A former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, was, on Monday, questioned by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of corruption.
Oduah, who represents Anambra North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, arrived at the EFCC Abuja office at about 11am and was immediately taken to a team of detectives for interrogation.
She was grilled for about eight hours by detectives over a N9, 443,549,531.25 contract awarded to I-Sec Security Nigeria Limited for the procurement and installation of security equipment in 22 airports while serving as aviation Minister under former President Goodluck Jonathan.
It was gathered that the anti-graft body had invited her since 13th June 2017 but she kept giving excuses and shifting many appointments. She however, turned up when the EFCC was about to declare her wanted.
The allegations against her include non-execution of the project in some airports, abandonment of the contract in a few ones, diversion of part of the contract sum and suspected case of money laundering.
THEWILL gathered that her statement was taken and she would be re-invited for further questioning.
