July 10, (THEWILL) – As part of activities to felicitate with Muslims on Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the gubernatorial candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ogun State, Otunba Deji Osinowo, has distributed food items and cash gifts to the needy in the state.
The food items include: rice, semolina, among others.
Osinowo, who spoke through his Personal Assistant, Mr Banwo Taiwo, in Abeokuta, said that the food items and cash gifts were given out to assist the less privileged to celebrate the festival with ease
He urged Muslims to celebrate the festival peacefully and exhibit the example of faith, perseverance and tolerance as shown by prophet Ibrahim when he was reminded by God to fulfill his promise of sacrificing his son.
The governorship candidate asked Muslims to use the occasion to pray to Almighty Allah to rid the nation off bandits, kidnapping, terrorism, and other menace, so that peace can continue to reign.
“I felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters on this Ileya festival and I pray Allah blessings on your family. To celebrate this with you I am giving out cash and food items like rice and Semolina, as well as other things to the needy so that they can celebrate the festival with ease”, he said.
