SAN FRANCISCO, December 04, (THEWILL) – The controversy surrounding the election of Mr. Amaju Pinnick as the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) continued Thursday with the Chairman of the NFF electoral appeal committee, Mr. Okey Ajunwa, nullifying the September 30 election where Amaju emerged.
Mr. Ajunwa, during a briefing with journalists in Abuja, said the decision to cancel the election followed the unlawful and unjust disqualification of Alhaji Shehu Dikko, one of the aspirants for the office.
The Chairman’s nullification of the election is coming barely 24 hours after members of the electoral panel approved the election of Pinnick. But Ajunwa has accused them of being ignorant of the rules of FIFA and CAF with regards to conducting elections for football federations.
“Amaju Pinnick’s election as President of the NFF is hereby annulled, and he is banned from presenting himself as NFF President henceforth,” the Chairman declared.
