August 22, (THEWILL) –Â Thomas Tuchel, the Manager of Chelsea, has been charged by the English Football Association for remarks he made about referee Anthony Taylor during his team’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham.
Tuchel did not hold back his annoyance when the Blues were the victims of some irritating decisions, with both of Tottenham’s goals coming soon after the Blues thought the referee had missed a significant incident.
The German said it “might be best” if Taylor did not referee any Chelsea matches going forward because everyone at Stamford Bridge believes the referee has a vendetta against his team. Many online fans would concur with the German given past experiences.
As THEWILL reported, a probe into Tuchel’s behaviour was started right away, and the FA has now approved his charge. A statement from the FA read: “Thomas Tuchel has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 in relation to comments that he made after Chelsea FC’s Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur FC on Sunday 14 August 2022.
“It is alleged that the manager’s comments in his post-match press conference constitute improper conduct as contrary to FA Rule E3.1 they imply bias and/or question the integrity of the match referee, and/or bring the game into disrepute. Thomas Tuchel has until Thursday 25 August 2022 to provide a response to this charge.”
