osimhen
May 10, (THEWILL) – Manchester United’s pursuit of Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, is facing fresh hurdles due to concerns over his lack of English Premier League experience, which has become a concern of recent.
The Red Devils have been closely monitoring Osimhen’s impressive performance this season, as he netted an impressive 28 goals across all competitions, helping the I Partenopei secure their first Serie A title in 33 years.
With Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst failing to consistently find the back of the net, United are in dire need of a prolific striker. However, Osimhen’s potential move to Old Trafford seems uncertain as the club sets its sights on Tottenham Hotspur superstar, Harry Kane, instead.
The latest rationale for their seeming indecision is hinged on the fact that Osimhen’s resume does not include proven success in the EPL and this reportedly dampened the interest of Old Trafford in the 24-year-old Nigerian international. In addition to this, United are also wary of Osimhen’s injury history.  THEWILL recalls that the Super Eagles forward’s injury record has evoked doubts among the club’s hierarchy, making them hesitate to finalise a deal for him.
Yet, it remains unsettling that even with Osimhen’s commendable tally of 74 goals in 135 appearances for Lille and Napoli, two prominent clubs in Europe’s top five leagues, his suitability for the EPL is still being questioned. It begs asking what else he will have to do to prove himself.
