December 15, (THEWILL) – Everton have announced that they will remain at their historic Goodison Park stadium for an additional season before moving to their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium in time for the 2025/2026 campaign.
The decision not to relocate mid-season was made after a comprehensive review of commercial factors, logistics, potential impact on football operations, and importantly – feedback from fans themselves in a recent survey.
The club stresses that this is not due to any construction delays, with the waterside £500 million stadium still on schedule for completion by late 2024. The 2024/2025 season will now be the club’s final emotional farewell to Goodison Park, their home for almost 134 years.
Interim Chief Executive, Colin Chong, explained: “By the time we close the gates for the final time, Goodison will have been our home for nearly 134 years. We know how much it means to our fans and we want to ensure we get our transition to our new stadium 100% right.”
Everton will be keen to give Goodison Park a fitting send-off by remaining in the top flight, while anticipation builds for the state-of-the-art 52,000 capacity stadium which promises fans an unrivalled match-day experience in line with the club’s ambitious plans.
