October 18, (THEWILL) – As a result of his actions that led to his dismissal after Sunday’s 1-0 win over Manchester City, Jurgen Klopp has been charged with improper conduct.
The Liverpool manager resorted to yelling at the referee’s assistant when Bernardo Silva’s challenge on Mohamed Salah went unpunished, leaving referee Anthony Taylor, who had allowed play to continue until he saw Klopp yell at the linesperson, had no choice but to send him off in the 85th minute.
In his post-game remarks, Klopp apologised for his actions: “Something snapped in that situation, I’m not proud of that. I deserved a red card, and the way I looked at this moment is not right.”
