December 30, (THEWILL) – Iconic British fashion designer, Dame Vivienne Westwood, has died aged 81.
According to a statement on her Twitter handle on Thursday, Westwood died in Clapham, South London.
“Vivienne Westwood died today, peacefully and surrounded by her family, in Clapham, South London. The world needs people like Vivienne to make a change for the better,” the statement reads.
Westwood rose to prominence in the 1970s, dressing the punk rock band, the Sex Pistols. She is known for her androgynous designs and slogan T-shirts.
