August 02, (THEWILL) – In their last pre-season fixture in the USA, Barcelona sealed a well-deserved 1-0 victory over AC Milan, thanks to a spectacular second-half goal by the 20-year-old sensation Ansu Fati.

Barcelona displayed their attacking proficiency throughout the game, particularly through wingers Raphinha and EZ Abde in the first half. Later, Ansu Fati and left-back Alejandro Balde took charge in the second half, combining brilliantly for the decisive goal in the 55th minute, with Fati expertly curling the ball into the top corner.

There were more chances on either side but a clinical edge was lacking to finish off and convert them to more goals. It finished in favour of Barcelona with Fati’s goal as the decider. The defending La Liga champions have had an encouraging pre-season so far with four games played. Apart from the 5-3 loss to Arsenal, they have comfortably won the other three including a resounding 3-0 defeat of Real Madrid.

On August 8, Barcelona will play their last friendly, a clash with Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur in the 58th Joan Gamper Trophy game. This match holds special significance as it will mark the Blaugranes’ first-ever game at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys with Camp Nou under redevelopment. After that, the focus will turn to kicking off the La Liga domestic season against Getafe on August 13.

AC Milan, on the other hand, failed to earn a victory during their time in the USA. They suffered a narrow 3-2 loss to Real Madrid and settled for a 2-2 draw against Juventus before their defeat against Barcelona in Las Vegas. The Rossoneri have a bit more time to regroup before their Italian Serie A campaign commences on August 21.
