March 29, (THEWILL) – Football legends Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger have made history by becoming the first managers to be inducted into the English Premier League Hall of Fame.
The duo’s long-term tenures with Manchester United and Arsenal, respectively, led to a combined 16 Premier League titles.
Ferguson’s incredible 13 championship titles make him the most successful manager in the history of the competition. He expressed his gratitude and pride, saying: “It’s not just about me as a person. It’s about the job at Manchester United and the bond we had over many years.”
Wenger, who won three EPL titles with Arsenal, including an unbeaten ‘Invincibles’ season in the 2003/2004 campaign, also shared his appreciation for the recognition and respect for the game. The two managers, who have had a fierce rivalry in the past, showed their mutual admiration and friendship.
Wenger spoke about their relationship, stating: “At the end of the day, you have respect, and it will be a great opportunity to meet with him, share a good bottle of wine and memories of our old battles.”
