
December 07, (THEWILL) — A 29-year-old footballer was detained in central London on Saturday on suspicion of assault and affray. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest followed an incident on Wardour Street in Soho.
Officers were called to the scene after receiving reports of an assault. The individual was detained immediately and faces two counts of assault alongside one count of affray.
One victim required hospital treatment but sustained injuries described by police as neither life-threatening nor life-changing. The Metropolitan Police confirmed these details on Saturday.
The arrested individual has since been released on bail whilst investigations continue. No further details regarding the circumstances of the incident have been disclosed by authorities.
