November 05 (THEWILL) – Nottingham Forest earned a thrilling draw against Brentford at the City Ground, thanks to a 96th-minute own goal from Mathias Jorgensen.
A lovely solo effort from Morgan Gibbs-White put the game on the board as he received the ball on the outskirts of the box, brushed off a few defenders, and sent a shot that was heavily deflected on its way into the net.
Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford successfully executed a contentious penalty, and Yoane Wissa successfully chipped Dean Henderson to put Brentford within striking distance of their first away victory of the year.
But in the 96th minute, a flurry in the penalty area led to the ball crossing the goal line, with Brentford defender Jorgensen providing the decisive touch to see the game finish with a draw as the points were shared.
In their next fixtures, Forest will face Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup schedule, and Brentford will host Gillingham.
