BEVERLY HILLS, February 12, (THEWILL) – Afeare Israel, an aide to popular singer, Davido, has apologised to DJ Cuppy over the allegations he made concerning her feud with Zlatan Ibile.
THEWILL recalls that Cuppy, daughter of Nigerian Billionaire Femi Otedola, had earlier threatened to sue Israel for alleging she failed to pay Zlatan after their “Gelato”musical collaboration.
Israel claimed to be supplying the background to the beef between the two musicians, after DJ Cuppy took to Instagram to express misgivings about Zlatan blocking her on social media, in response to which the male artiste dismissingly claimed he did not know who went by the lady’s stage name.
In a letter of February 10, Cuppy’s lawyers, Babajide Koku & Co., stated that there was no contractual breach in her deal with Zlatan.
The letter gave Israel a seven-day ultimatum to apologise for defamation and retract his claims.
In a video shared on social media yesterday, Israel acknowledged that he wasn’t fully abreast of the situation before he made his “false” claim.
“I want to apologise to Cuppy Otedola for my post on her and Zlatan’s issue. I’m very sorry for the embarrassment it has caused you, your person, and your family. Please don’t be offended,” he said in the video.
“It will never happen again. I’m sorry the statement is false. It was actually what I heard. We’ve been good friends for many years, including your dad. Please, Cuppy, don’t be offended.”
